Barbados has 18 confirmed COVID-19 cases

Barbados has confirmed one more COVID-19 positive patient.

Sixteen persons were tested for COVID-19 on March 23.

According to a statement from Barbados's Ministry of Health and Wellness, the tests were conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory yesterday and results issued today.

The newest patient is a 36-year-old man who lives in Barbados.

Investigations are ongoing.

Contact tracing, with regard to this newly-diagnosed case, has begun to identify all those with whom he would have been in close contact.

Dr Anton Best has confirmed that at this time, Barbados remains at Stage 2 in its COVID-19 response.
