Belmont man charged with sexually touching child

A 55-year-old Belmont man was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, charged with the sexual touching of a child.

According to a statement issued by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the man is alleged to have sexually touched a child, who lived with him under the guardianship of his common-law wife, on several occasions between March 2018 and February 2019. 

The TTPS said the 55-year-old was arrested and charged on Monday, April 1, 2019, following investigations into a report made against him to the Belmont Police Station on February 16, 2019.

The TTPS said investigations were made into the case supervised by Inspector Rayon Dickson of the Child Protection Unit (CPU) while charges were laid by WPC Rudder of the CPU.
