Soca singer Blaxx is recuperating from a kidney infection. An appeal has been put out for funds to assist with his medical expenses.

Dexter “Blaxx” Stewart is asking his fans to keep him in prayer.

De All Stars lead vocalist has been recuperating after he was discharged from hospital a week ago.

Blaxx told Loop he had a kidney infection and he was very bad at one point.

“God gave me a second chance,” he said.

The singer, who was coughing a lot during the brief interview, said he is in recovery but he is not a hundred percent.

He said when he fell ill his family kept it private so it was not publicised.

An appeal for funds to assist the singer with his medical expenses was put out by Dawg ‘E’ Slaughter.

Blaxx said Slaughter asked for blessing to put out the appeal.

“He tell me they can’t buy a next Blaxx in Massy and some sort of support is needed,” Blaxx said, noting that the plan is to continue a drive to assist artistes who are sick and can’t afford their medical bills.
