Blue Waters cooperating with investigation after fatal crash
Blue Waters Product Limited said it is cooperating fully with a police investigation into an accident along the Uriah Butler Highway on Tuesday involving one of its delivery trucks.
The truck lost control after being hit by a dump truck and crossed the southbound lane of the highway near Charlieville, coming into contact with a PTSC bus carrying more than 50 passengers.
The accident claimed the lives of two women identified as Tara Baboolal from Debe, and Judy Marcia Reid Clarke from Diego Martin.
The company noted preliminary reports which suggest that the truck passing on the outer southbound lane experienced difficulties, and as a result, came into contact with the Blue Waters delivery truck which occupied the middle lane.
The contact caused the Blue Waters truck to cross the median separating the north and south bound lanes.
The company said the authorities are continuing their investigations and it is cooperating fully, and further details will be disclosed in a subsequent communication.
The company has extended its prayers to all those who were affected by the tragedy.
“This was an extremely tragic event involving the loss of lives and serious injury, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, our employees and all who were impacted by the accident.”
