Bodies wash ashore in Manzanilla
Police are said to be on location in Manzanilla where the bodies of two men have washed ashore.
The bodies are believed to be that of two men who went missing when the pirogue they were in overturned.
However, investigators are awaiting the arrival of relatives to view the bodies to confirm this.
On Saturday afternoon, Devon Trotman and Darion McKenzie, both of St Joseph Street, Sangre Grande, were in a vessel along with three other persons from the same area.
The five friends were said to be on a pirogue near the Ortoire River, Mayaro, when they encountered rough sea conditions which caused the vessel to capsize.
All five occupants were thrown into the water.
Trotman and McKenzie never resurfaced.
The other occupants, Sheldon Bethelmy, 42, Brian Coutaine, 33 and Miguel Phillip, also of Forest Road, Sangre Grande, were able to safely reach shore.
The two bodies, believed to be that of Trotman and McKenzie, were found shortly before midday Monday.
