Body found behind Nestle compound

Police are investigating a report in which the decomposing body of a man was found in some bushes behind the Nestlé compound located at the corner of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway and, the Uriah Butler Highway, Valsayn on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police reports at about 4:00 pm on January 9, 2019, officers of the St Joseph Police Station received information that a body had been found.

A team of officers from the St Joseph Police Station and the Homicide Bureau, under the supervisions of ACP McDonald Jacob and Snr Sup Curtis Paul, visited the scene.

The body was viewed by a district medical officer, who made certain pronouncements, before ordering its removal from the scene.

Up to 9:00 am Thursday, the deceased had yet to be identified.

However, once this is done, a post mortem is expected to be performed to confirm the cause of death.
