Body found with hands and feet bound in Gran Couva

An unidentified man was found dead Monday morning in Gran Couva with what appeared to be a chop wound to his neck.

His hands and feet were both bound, police said.

According to police reports, around 6am a woman was walking along Corosal Road, off the Gran Couva Main Road, when she observed what appeared to be the body of a man near the river.

The police were notified and a team of officers from the Central Division and the Homicide Bureau, including ACP James, Snr Sup Balram, Sup Grenwich, ASP Pierre, and Sgt John, visited the scene.

The officers found the body at the location given by the woman.

There appeared to be a chop wound to the right side of the man's neck.

The area was cordoned off and crime scene investigators visited the scene.

The body was viewed by a district medical officer, who made certain pronouncements, before ordering the body’s removal to the Forensic Science Center in St James.
