Police are investigating a report of a robbery at a boxing gym in Arima.
The robbery was only discovered on Monday afternoon by personnel who returned to the premises, located at the southern side of the Larry Gomez Stadium.
It is suspected that the incident took place sometime over the weekend, however, CCTV footage from cameras in the area are to be reviewed to confirm this.
The informant told police that the building was secured at 7.30 pm on Friday.
When personnel returned around 5.15 pm on Monday, they observed the compound had been ransacked and several items were missing including – 20 pairs of boxing gloves, 16 jump ropes, four sets of headgear, four hand wraps, two pairs of focus mitts, one body focus pads, one first aid kit and two RCA speaker boxes.
Police said the value of the said items was still to be ascertained.
Investigations are continuing.
