Boy, 3, among 4 Venezuelans held for being in country illegally
Four Venezuelan nationals have been detained at the Los Iros Beach, Erin, following an anti-crime exercise in the area Tuesday evening.
During the exercise, which was led by Sgt. Richardson, of the Santa Flora Police Station, officers had cause to stop and search a brown Nissan Almera parked near a bar occupied by two Trinidadian men and four Venezuelans.
Enquiries led officers to believe that the three Venezuelan women, ages ranging from 22 to 41 years, along with a 3-year-old Venezuelan boy, were in the country illegally.
All six persons were conveyed to the Erin Police Station, pending further enquiries and the Immigration Division has since been contacted.
