Boys who were trapped in oil seep out of hospital

The two teenage boys who were trapped in an oil seep in Point Fortin have been discharged.

The brothers, 13-year-old Darold Clarke and 12-year-old Adiel Cyrus of Egypt Village were rescued after they fell into the oil seep while playing on Wednesday afternoon.

They were taken to the San Fernando General hospital where they were examined and discharged on Thursday.

The boys are reported to be doing well and are expected to undergo more tests in the coming days.

On Friday, Energy Minister Franklin Khan said signage and barriers would be erected around the oil seep.

He added that government is working with specialists to survey a map of oil seeps throughout Trinidad in a bid to prevent more accidents.
