Brothers stabbed defending their mom from bandits
Two brothers are nursing stab wounds after rushing to defend their mother from armed bandits.
Central Division Police are now searching for two individuals who invaded a home in Cunupia on Wednesday night.
The siblings, aged 22 and 21, were at home with their mother and three other friends, when around 10 pm, two masked men stormed the premises.
One man was armed with a gun, while the other was armed with a knife.
The men announced a hold-up and when one of the assailants pointed the knife at their mother and attempted to follow her into the house, the boys rushed to their mother’s aid.
During the commotion, the three other people saw an opportunity to flee and raised an alarm asking neighbours for help.
The suspects reportedly grabbed what they could and fled the scene.
The assailants, police were told, grabbed wallets, keys, and cellular phones that had been left in the gallery of the home.
The boys suffered stab wounds to their arms and back while their mother suffered injuries to her face and arms.
They were all rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where they were treated.
The injuries are not life-threatening, police said.
WPC Elcock is continuing inquiries.
