Burglars snack on groceries, steal $17,000 in items
Bandits who broke into the home of a Petit Valley woman not only stole over $17,000 in items but also ate the woman’s groceries.
The victim told police that around 6.00 am on Friday, she secured her home along Karvi Crescent Petit Valley and went away.
Upon returning some 12 hours later, she observed that the house had been broken into.
Upon checking, she noted that several electronic items, including a 45-inch television, a home entertainment system, as well as her gold wedding band and her engagement ring, were missing.
However, she also found that several of the food items in her house had been tampered with.
The police were notified and CSI officers visited the scene.
Investigators dusted for prints, and additionally, they seized some of the food items handled by the criminals, including a biscuit tin, for further processing.
