Businessman dies after Arouca shooting
A 33-year-old businessman succumbed to his injuries at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex following a shooting incident in Arouca on Thursday morning.
The deceased is said to be Quincy Gill, 33, of Bregon Park, D'abadie.
LoopTT was told that at about 6:45 am Thursday Gill arrived at his business place at Lopinot Junction, Arouca, when he was approached by an armed assailant.
Shots were said to be fired, and the victim felt a burning sensation about his body.
The assailant then fled the scene on foot.
The police were notified and the wounded man was rushed for medical treatment, however, he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.
The incident is believed to be a robbery gone awry, however, inquiries are continuing.
