Businessman's vehicle broken into, firearm stolen

Barataria police are investigating a report in which a 68-year-old businessman had his firearm stolen.

The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday afternoon around the Aranguez Savannah.

Around 5 pm, the older man left his licensed firearm hidden in his vehicle which he parked around the Savannah.

He then went to a nearby gym.

When he returned to his vehicle around 7 pm, he noticed that his car was broken into and his .38mm revolver was missing.

An electronic tablet was also stolen from the vehicle.

The police were notified and officers from the North Eastern Division are continuing inquiries.
