State-owned Caribbean Airlines is among three finalists that have been nominated for the bmobile Business Technology Award.
The winner will be announced at the Champions of Business Awards Ceremony hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce later today.
Under the theme “One powerful connection can start your journey”, this evening’s event promises to be the biggest in the business networking calendar this year.
Also nominated in the Business Technology category are Term Finance Holdings Limited, the Caribbean’s first completely web-based credit institution, and Vibrant Technology Solutions Limited, which offers a unique and local brand of ICT Project Management and Integrated ICT Services to several corporate clients throughout the region.
The category was introduced in 2018 in collaboration with telecoms company bmobile, and seeks to recognise the creation of an innovative, disruptive, technology-based company or a solution that has had a significant impact on either its target users or its industry as a whole.
CAL came in for praise for its technological developments in its efforts to deliver its new customer experience strategy which includes an improved website, a mobile application, content delivery inflight and payment portals.
CAL’s free-to-download mobile app was launched in July 2019 and offers a range of innovative options to the local market such as the ability to book flights to any destination serviced by the airline or any of their interline partners or pay for extra baggage among other service features.
The app offers customers a new way to keep connected, and ensures that the company keeps abreast of trending technology.
Digital payment platform provider WiPay walked away with the 2018 title. With WiPay, users can make and receive payments online with or without a credit card.
