Visually impaired Moruga man needs help after kitchen collapses

Andre Nicholas, who is visually impaired, has been unable to use his stove since his kitchen collapsed, causing his stove to fall straight through to the ground below.

Nicholas, who lives in a wooden house in Cachipe Village, Moruga, has been unable to carry out the repairs due to his disability.

Moruga councillor Joseph Lorant is asking building contractors and other community groups to assist Nicholas in repairing his home for Christmas.

Lorant said in a social media post on Saturday that he hopes that NGOs or other kind-hearted business owners or contractors might be able to help Nicholas in time for Christmas.

"Calling all hardwares, community groups, corporate Trinidad and Tobago, builders your assistance would be greatly appreciated in this current situation."

"After viewing this video I felt it necessary to make a public appeal for any assistance towards the repair of Mr. Andre Nicholas home. Located at Cachipe Village, Moruga."

"Based on the current state Mr. Nicholas is unable to cook, after the kitchen area collapsed damaging his stove in the process. As you would see Mr Nicholas is visually impaired. In addition his home is in a serious state of disrepair and have a potential for future damages."

"Together we can make sure Mr. Nicholas spends a good Christmas in the season of giving. Let's make this possible!!! Thanks in advance," Lorant said.
