Project Runway Season 9 Winner Anya Ayoung-Chee and acclaimed Monday wear designer Keisha Als have announced the relaunch of cANYAval, the popular Carnival-Fashion e-Commerce website.

The website www.canyaval.com features a varied selection of merchandise from some of the Caribbean’s leading and emerging Carnival fashion designers, including (in alphabetical order) Anya Ayoung-Chee Limited Edition, CIARA, Chandra Maharaj, Crystal Aming, De Coteau Designs, HER Monday Wear by Laura Narayansingh, J.Angelique, MEILING, Omni Swim, Project Monday, Rbabb Designs and TROPIX by Keisha Als.

cANYAval Founder Anya Ayoung-Chee said, “Our goal is to highlight the Caribbean’s top fashion and Monday Wear designers, to create one place to purchase the widest selection of regional brands, and to make it easy for people living abroad to both shop local and have easy access to the hottest looks for Carnival. We will be continuing this offering for all of the Carnivals throughout the year, with Jamaica Carnival being our next focus.”

In addition to the online shopping platform that offers worldwide shipping, cANYAval will be activating -popups in the major Carnival destinations throughout the region, starting with Trinidad on February 23 at MEILING’s Boutique, 6 Carlos Street, in Woodbrook.

The one-day pop-up shop will feature all the designers and brands featured on the website as well as a selection of special items not shown online. Consumers will have a chance to interact with the designers and shop for last minute Carnival Fashion looks.

cANYAval aims to provide both foreign-based and local consumers with an easy online shopping experience as well as access to numerous regional designers, all in one place.

Curator Keisha Als said: “It’s important to us that we shine light on the wide range of talented designers working in the carnival wear arena. The Caribbean is rich with talent and we want to increase their reach worldwide.”
