Car on fire causes traffic on Churchill Roosevelt Highway

Drivers heading east are advised of traffic as a result of a car which caught fire on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway on Monday afternoon.

Details are still coming in, however the incident reportedly occurred around 3:30 pm on Monday on the Eastbound lane of the highway in the vicinity of Coca Cola. 


Video footage shared by Twitter user @damigordon showed the burning car across several lanes of the CRH while on fire. 

Fire officials were said to be at the scene up to 4:30 pm. It is not yet known whether anyone was injured in the incident. 

Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes if possible as several drivers reported heavy traffic as far west as Curepe.
