Car stolen near Hyatt recovered in Chaguanas

The swift work of officers of the Central Division led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle on Sunday.

The vehicle, a gold Nissan B14, was parked along Wrightson Road, Port of Spain in the vicinity of the Hyatt Hotel around 12.30am Sunday morning.

The 22-year-old drive, from Diego Martin, secured the car and walked away to conduct some business.

Upon returning an estimated 90 minutes later, he observed the vehicle, which had an estimated value of $30,000 was missing.

He said he gave no one permission to remove the car.

The police were immediately notified, and an all points bulletin was issued.

Officers of the Central Division received key intelligence which led them to an area frequented by criminal elements in Chaguanas, where the vehicle was recovered.

It was seized and towed away from the scene.

The car was examined by crime scene investigators and workable prints were recovered.
