A 40-year-old man is in police custody on inquiries into malicious damage. 

The suspect, who is from San Juan, was held at about 11 am today after he was caught damaging vehicles in Laventille. 

Police received reports that a man was throwing stones at a car, while a man and his three children were trapped in a car. Officers from the Port of Spain Division under the supervision of Snr Sup Moore, Sup Reuben, and ASP Sooker responded. 

The officers arrived at the location, said to be near Success Village, where they caught the suspect. The swift actions of the police were able to prevent any injuries, Loop News was told. 

He has since been handed over to officers from the Besson Street Police Station, who are continuing inquiries. 

The operation also included Insp Superville, Sgt Bharath, Cpl Arthur, and PC Stuart.
