Carapichaima man held after firearm, stolen items found at home

A Carapichaima man was scheduled to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate on Wednesday after a firearm was allegedly found in his home.

The suspect, police said, was also found with a quantity of items which are believed to have been stolen.

The suspect was held on Tuesday during a police exercise by officers of the Central Division Task Force and the Special Branch.

The exercise was led by Sgt Thompson and Sgt Howard, among others.

The officers, acting on intelligence received, made their way to a home along Mungal Trace, Orange Field Road, Carapichaima, where they executed a search warrant in the presence of one man.

At the home, the officers allegedly found and seized one Taurus Pistol along with a magazine containing 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

As a result of the find, the suspect was detained.
