Carapichaima man stabbed to death after argument
A 44-year-old man is dead following a stabbing incident in Carapichaima.
The deceased has been identified as Nicholas Murphy of Roop Singh Road, Carapichaima.
According to police reports, on Thursday morning, the victim was found in the yard of one of his neighbours bleeding from injuries to his head and neck.
The police and paramedics were immediately notified and the injured man was rushed to the Couva Health Facility.
However, he succumbed to his injuries around 3:00 pm on Thursday afternoon.
Murphy was pronounced dead by Dr Rajnath.
The body was viewed by a district medical officer, who told police that the injuries appeared to be stab wounds.
An autopsy has been ordered to confirm the cause of death.
Police were told that prior to the discovery, Murphy was seen arguing with a man known to him.
This individual has been detained for questioning.
