Carapo couple held with pistol, ammo

A Carapo couple was arrested at their home on Thursday after police seized a pistol and a quantity of ammunition at the premises.

Officers of the Northern Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in the Carapo district between 6:00 am and 11:30 am on Thursday, which included officers from the La Horquetta Crime Patrol Unit and Tunapuna and St. Joseph CIDs, had cause to search the Jokhan Trace, Carapo home, of a 21-year-old man and his 22-year-old common law wife.

The search resulted in one Smith and Wesson pistol loaded with a magazine containing 12 rounds of 9mm ammunition being discovered in the house.

The man and his common law wife were arrested in connection with the find.
