Carenage house burned after alleged threats

Western Division police are investigating the cause of a fire in Carenage on Tuesday night.

According to police reports, at about 9:00 pm Tuesday, police received a report of a fire at Haig Street, Carenage.

Upon their arrival they observed a building on fire.

Appliances from the Four Roads Fire Station were notified and within minutes they were on location.

The fire was quickly contained and police said that they received no reports of injuries.

Upon conducting inquiries into the area, they were told that a man was seen fleeing the scene at about the same time the fire was reported.

Police were further informed that the owner of the home, Cherylyn Roberts, had received threats some time ago from a male companion that he would burn down the house.
