Cat burglar shot in legs

A Marabella man is now in police custody, after being arrested just minutes after breaking into a house in Marabella.

Officers of the Marabella Police Station on mobile patrol responded to a report of a housebreaking in progress at Kenneth Avenue, Marabella, around 2:15 am on Thursday.

When they arrived, the officers found a masked man in the house.

He pointed an object resembling a firearm at them, prompting the lawmen to open fire.

The suspect then fled the scene.

The officers searched the area and found the suspect a short distance away with a fake gun and nursing two gunshot wounds to the legs.

The 50-year-old man, who is said to be from Bayshore, Marabella, was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital, where he is currently warded and under police guard.
