‘Cemetery dweller’ arrested with house breaking equipment

Police have arrested a 22-year-old homeless man for possession of house breaking equipment.

The man, who reportedly lives at the Lapeyrouse Cemetery, Port of Spain was arrested along Park Street around 1:30 am on Tuesday.

Officers on patrol in the area, reportedly observed the man with a bag in his possession and acting suspiciously.

The man was approached and searched which resulted in a cutlass, a hacksaw set, a pair of shears and other equipment used for house breaking being found inside the bag.

He was arrested and taken to the Port of Spain CID, where he is expected to be charged.

Acting Senior Superintendent, Head of the POS CID is spearheading investigations.
