Updated: 5:15 pm

The Judiciary is advising that the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court located at the Corner of Laing Street and Railway Road was closed at 11:00 am on Wednesday to facilitate additional sanitisation of the premises following rehabilitation works on the sewer system.

Reports say the sewer began overflowing. Normal operations are expected to resume on Thursday.

The public is asked to be guided accordingly.

On Tuesday, the Judiciary informed that the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court was closed at 12:00 pm to facilitate rehabilitative works to the malfunctioning sewer system.

All internal arrangements have been made to expedite the restoration of the sewer system. It was expected that magistrates would have resumed sitting at 10.00 am on Wednesday.

The Judiciary says it considers the closure necessary to ensure the health and welfare of its employees, stakeholders and clients.
