Chaguanas Mayor assures systems in place to treat with flooding
Chaguanas Mayor Gopaul Boodhan says measures are in place to treat with any eventualities which may arise out of the inclement weather conditions that have been impacting T&T.
According to a release, Mayor Boodhan, Deputy Mayor Faaiq Mohammed and other Councillors and Aldermen, along with the Chaguanas Borough Corporation's Disaster Management Unit, are actively pursuing and responding to all calls and messages that they have received.
Currently, they are on the ground, responding to calls and reports.
The Following areas in Chaguanas have reported flooding:-
1 Jerningham at the “S” Bend
3 Rodney Road. Endeavour
4 Goodwill Road, Enterprise
5 Ruben Trace, Enterprise
6 Egypt Trace, Endeavour
As the inclement weather continues, the Chaguanas Borough Corporation wishes to urge all persons to take the necessary precautions.
1 Seek higher ground.
2 Be aware of flash flood areas, such as canals, streams and drainage channels.
3 If you must leave your home, do not walk through moving water.
4 Secure all valuable items.
5 Ensure that your pets are safe and away from areas that may be flooded.
