Children's online learning devices destroyed in Penal fire
A family of four has been left homeless following a fire in Penal which destroyed their belonging, including items children were using for virtual learning.
Loop News was told that two children, aged ten and eight, have been affected after the incident, which occurred on Wednesday night.
Police were told that around 8pm on Wednesday night, neighbours heard a loud explosion, following which smoke was observed coming from the back of the home at Scotts Road, Penal.
No one was at home at the time.
The fire services were notified; however, the two-bedroom wooden house was destroyed.
Police said that the house was not wired for electricity.
The family told police that they lost all their possessions in the blaze, including electronics that the children were using to study virtually.
Fire investigators are not certain how the fire started.
