Chinese businessman robbed at Port-of-Spain market

Police are investigating a report of a robbery of a Chinese national at the Port of Spain Central Market.

The Chinese national was said to have been conducting business in the area, when he was approached by a man armed with a firearm.

The armed man ordered the businessman to hand over all his cash and valuables, which amounted to an estimated $10,000.

The armed assailant then fled the scene.

The victim was not said to have been hurt in the exchange.

Officers of the Besson Street Police Station were notified and are said to be investigating the matter.
