Chinese national among 3 held in connection with stolen vehicle

 

Police said a Chinese national was among three held in connection with a stolen vehicle which was later recovered. 

According to a statement issued Wednesday by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the Chinese national and two others were arrested, and a vehicle which had been reported stolen was recovered, by officers of the Northern Division during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Morvant district on Tuesday.

Police said the exercise, was carried out around 1.00 pm on January 28, 2020 and was supervised by Inspector Joseph and included officers of the Northern Division’s Special Investigations Unit, the Northern Division’s Crime Scene Unit and the Northern Division Task Force.

During the exercise, officers proceeded to Lady Young Road, Morvant, where they recovered one white Hyundai Tucson motor vehicle which was stolen during a home invasion incident in the Maracas, St. Joseph district.

Police said the men - a 38-year-old Chinese national of Tunapuna, a 46-year-old of Greenvale and a 40-year-old of Malick - were arrested in connection with the home invasion and the larceny motor vehicle.

Investigations are ongoing.
