Chinese national robbed in Princes Town

Police are investigating a report in which a Chinese national was robbed by masked men in Princes Town.

The incident took place at St George Street, off the Naparima-Mayaro Road.

According to reports, the victim, a 21-year-old man, was at the living quarters of the basement of his business place, a restaurant and bar, when around 4 am he was woken up by three masked men.

The men were armed with ice-picks and announced a hold-up.

The armed assailants forced the victim to the business area where they relieved him of TT$20,000, which was secured in a vault.

They then broke open a roulette machine and took the sum of TT$10,000 from inside.

The assailants then made their escape.

The police were notified and a team of officers from the Princes Town Police Station visited the scene.
