Created : 27 December 2017
Some recipients of the Christmas Food Support Cards from the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services reportedly experienced issues accessing the funds on their cards over the holiday period.
The Ministry said it was made aware and that inquiries revealed that the problem was as a result of the information contained in some of the packages received from the card supplier.
In a release, the Ministry advised that the matter has now been rectified.
Persons who have been unable to access the funds on their cards are being directed to visit the Ministry’s Chaguanas Social Welfare Local Board Office, located at Eleanor Street, Chaguanas, to have the matter addressed.
Card recipients are also reminded that they must present the card and a form of national identification.
The statement says that this process will be facilitated up to 12 noon on December 31 2017.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services has apologised for any inconvenience caused by this occurrence and reiterated that the issue was outside the control of the Ministry.
Persons may contact the Ministry via its Hotline, toll-free at 800–1MSD or the Chaguanas Social Welfare Local Board Office at Eleanor Street, Chaguanas for additional information.
