Citizens lie on the ground outside Parliament in protest of crime

As a motion of no confidence was brought against the National Security Minister on Friday, a group of protesters expressed a motion of their own.

Scores of people gathered outside the Parliament building each holding a number representing the people killed so far this year chanting "Dillon must go".

The group laid on the ground as Members of Parliament prepared to make their way into the chamber.

Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi and Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar were among those who greeted and spoke with the team.

Speaking with the media, Persad-Bissessar said she felt that the persons participating in the protest stood for the souls of those who were killed for the year to date.
