Coast Guard make $4M cocaine bust
A Venezuelan national is among three people arrested in connection with the seizure of $4 million worth in cocaine in the Gulf of Paria last Thursday.
The Venezuelan man, along with two Trinidadian men, were arrested during a drug interdiction exercise carried out in the vicinity of Patos Island.
The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard apprehended the men, and a search of the pirogue they were in led to the discovery of nine packets containing 10.1kgs of the drug.
Officers of the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit were contacted in relation to the seizure.
Investigations are continuing.
