Coast Guard officer aiding police with Petit Valley shooting
A Coast Guard official is said to be aiding police with their inquiries following the death of 30-year-old Marlon Jules.
Jules was shot dead around 5:30 pm on Wednesday along Pioneer Drive, Petit Valley after he allegedly got into a confrontation with the official, who is said to be known to him.
This confrontation, police were told, escalated to the two men pulling firearms on each other.
According to reports, the Coast Guard officer, upon seeing Jules with a firearm in his hand, pulled out his own licensed weapon and shot the 30-year-old.
Jules died on the scene.
Another person was injured in this incident, but information on this individual is still coming in.
The officer has since been helping police with their inquiries.
Jules, police said, was well known to them, and was wanted in connection with several illegal activities.
