Cocorite man held with loaded gun in backpack

A Cocorite man is expected to be placed on identification parades today after he was held with a loaded firearm.

The suspect, a 28-year-old man from the Powder Magazine community in Cocorite, was arrested on Tuesday morning by officers of the Western Division Task Force.

The officers, acting on information received, made their way to the area around 9.30 am on Tuesday where they had cause to stop and search a 28-year-old man who had a bright coloured knapsack in his possession.

The said knapsack was searched and one .38 Revolver with 6 rounds of ammunition was found.

The suspect was arrested as a result of the find.
