Construction worker charged with possession of ammunition

A 26-year old man is expected to appear before a Siparia Magistrate on Monday charged with possession of ammunition.
On Friday, Sgt Ali, Cpl George and a party of officers of the South Western Divisional Task-Force went to Harris Village, South Oropouche, where a search warrant for firearms and ammunition was executed at the premises of Fernando Amelio Prestana.
The officers searched the home and discovered a bag containing 14 white cardboard boxes each containing 20 rounds of 7.62 ammunition with a total of 280 rounds of ammunition in a bedroom on the southern side of the upstairs apartment.
The items were seized and suspect was arrested and subsequently charged for possession of ammunition.
