Construction workers threatened, police to intervene

Police are investigating reports that contractors hired to do roadworks along Indian Walk Road, Moruga, were threatened.

This was the reason, police were told, that the workers who were doing the repair works on the roadway had left the site before their work could be completed.

The unfinished conditions of the roadways left Moruga residents frustrated, culminating in a fiery protest on Monday morning.

The road works resumed on Tuesday morning, bringing some relief to residents of the area.

Police have also indicated that they would be making patrols in the area to ensure that contractors were safe while works were ongoing.
