Cops catch suspect minutes after Port of Spain robbery

Police nabbed a suspect just minutes after a robbery was reported near the Queen's Park Savannah on Sunday morning.

In a statement issued Sunday, police said the Port of Spain Division's Emergency Response Patrol was able to act quickly after the report was made. 

Police were told that around 2:30 am ERP 09 observed a man running in the middle of the road in the vicinity of Queens Royal College.

Officers stopped and were informed that the victim was just robbed by two men who they observed running through the savannah.

They gave chase with the assistance of ERP 13 and Woodbrook police.

One of the suspects was held and the other escaped. Two officers sought medical attention for injuries.
