A marijuana eradication exercise in Biche on Tuesday led to the destruction of marijuana trees and cured marijuana worth $11.3 million.

The exercise was carried out by officers of the Eastern Division Task Force, along with officers of the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit and the Air Support Unit between 6 am and 3 pm.

The officers discovered six marijuana fields with over 9,000 fully grown marijuana trees, 508 pounds of cured marijuana and two curing racks.

Police say the drugs had an estimated street value of $11,304,000.

The trees were subsequently uprooted and destroyed.
