Cops detain 8 Rasta City gang members

Eight men, who police claim have connections to the Rasta City Gang, were held in Cocorite.

The eight, who are between the ages of 18 and 50, were arrested at a home along Main Street, Cocorite around 8 pm on Thursday.

At the time, they were all present when a “known offender” was arrested with a .40mm calibre pistol which was loaded with 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

All men were taken into custody.

The exercise was spearheaded by Snr Sup Pragg and Sup Ramjohn, with assistance from Sgt Arneaud, Cpl Hunte, Cpl Khan, PC Clement, WPC Riley Benjamin, PC Dennis, PC Peters, PC Charles, PC Frith, PC Christopher, PC Taylor and WPC Fredericks, among others.
