Cops hold Port of Spain man before going live to show weapons

A Nelson Street man was held Tuesday afternoon mere moments before he was about to do a live video on social media to ‘show off the weapons he had’, police said.

Police received intelligence which led to them to the suspect’s home on Tuesday.

Police were told that the suspect was about to do a video to post on social media in response to threats made to him by a  man from the Sea Lots community over the weekend.

Officers of the Port of Spain Division received intelligence of this and made their way to the suspect’s home, and he was found with a weapon.

As a result, he was arrested and taken into custody.

The suspect, police said, is expected to be questioned on several shooting incidents in the capital city over the past few weeks.

More on this as it becomes available.
