Cops hold suspect in Curepe casino shooting
A male suspect, wanted in connection with a shooting incident at a casino in Curepe, on Saturday 2 June, was arrested during an anti-crime exercise in the Laventille district, this morning.
During the exercise, a pistol and a quantity of ammunition were also seized by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force.
The exercise, spearheaded by ASP (Ag.), Chris Bailey, was conducted between 5 am and 9 am, on Friday 8 June and included officers of the St. Joseph CID.
During the exercise, a search warrant was executed at the Mc Shine Lands, Laventille, home of the 29-year-old suspect.
The search resulted in a Glock pistol, two magazines and a quantity of ammunition being discovered in the house. The man who was found in the house at the time of the exercise, was arrested in connection with the find.
He was handed over to officers of the St. Joseph CID, who are investigating the shooting at the casino, which left two security guards wounded.
