Cops recover two vehicles stolen in Princes Town

Police were able to recover two vehicles stolen in separate incidents in Princes Town on Friday night.

In the first instance, a 48-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint at her home in Princes Town.

The victim told police that around 8 pm on Friday, she had just arrived at home from work when she was approached by four men. 

Three of the men were armed with firearms, while the fourth was armed with a cutlass.

The assailants ordered the woman into her home, where they relieved her of her cash and valuables, including an estimated $50,000 in jewellery.

They also stole the keys to her Nissan Tiida and escaped in the vehicle.

The police were notified and officers of the Southern Division, led by PC Mithcell and PC Basdeo received reliable intelligence which led them to recover the vehicle.

Later on the same night, around 11:35 pm, a 24-year-old woman was about to enter the yard of her Princes Town home when she was approached by two men, one of whom had a firearm.

The men announced a hold-up and relieved the woman of her cash and valuables, including her brown Nissan Tiida.

They then escaped in the vehicle.

The police were notified and officers, led by PC Basdeo, responded.

The men received vital intelligence which led them to a bushy area off Indian Walk, Princes Town, where the vehicle was recovered.
