Cops recover vehicle minutes after it was stolen at gunpoint
The swift work of officers from the Central Division led to the recovery of a vehicle after it was stolen at gunpoint last night.
According to police reports, around 10 pm on Monday, officers received a report that armed assailants had stolen a black Toyota in the Endeavour, Chaguanas community.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the ordeal.
The police were notified and within 20 minutes of it being stolen, officers of the Central Division Operations Unit, led by ASP Richard Smith, received key intelligence, which led them to Soogrim Street, Cunupia.
Here the officers found and seized a vehicle which matched the description of the one which was stolen.
The vehicle is expected to be dusted for prints, and the investigators are expected to retrieve and review CCTV footage from businesses and residences in the area with the aim of identifying the suspects.
