Cops searching for two men in Barrackpore home invasion

Barrackpore police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two men who broke into a woman’s home while she was asleep with her two young children.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Police gave the following description of the two suspects:

Suspect 1 - around 5  feet 6 inches tall, light-skinned, mixed, slim built, with short hair, wearing a black jersey, 3/4 pants and a pair of grey sneakers.

Suspect 2 – around 5 feet 3 inches tall, wearing a black hat, black jersey, 3/4 pants, slim build, dark complexion, and a baby vest over his face.

Both men were armed with a cutlass.

According to police, around 4 am on Thursday, the victim and her children were at home in Picton Settlement, Debe, when the two men forced their way into the house.

The armed men threatened the mother and her children, before ordering them into a room.

The 33-year-old woman was tied up before they proceeded to ransack the home.

The suspects escaped on foot with an estimated $19,500 in valuables – including cash, jewellery, cellular phones, and other electronics.

The woman managed to untie herself and contact the police.

Sgt Lewis, along with other officers visited the scene.

PC Ramsaroop is continuing inquiries.

Anyone with information which could lead to the arrests of the suspects is asked to contact the police, or they can give the information anonymously through 555 or 800-TIPS.
