Cops seize drugs, gun, camouflage in Las Cuevas

A police exercise in Las Cuevas on Tuesday has resulted in the seizure of a homemade shotgun, a quantity of marijuana, a ski mask, and a full camouflage uniform.

The items were seized during a police exercise in a forested area off Pierre Road, Las Cuevas.

A team of officers from the North Eastern Division, supervised by Snr Sup Sagramsingh, with assistance from ASP Sooker, Sgt. Sterlyn Taylor, Cpl Shiraz Ali, PC Stafford, PC Ramkissoon and PC Manna, among several others, received key information from members of the public.

As a result, they entered the forested area and came across a garden shed about an hour’s walk off the roadway.

At the shed, several illegal items, including the firearm, drugs, and camouflage items were seized.

However, at the time of the discovery, no one was at the garden and as a result no one was arrested.

More on this as it becomes available.
