Cops seize marijuana in Tabaquite, Laventille

Police exercises in the Tabaquite and Laventille districts have led to the arrests of two men in connection with possession of marijuana, as well as the seizure of a loaded revolver.

On Friday, officers of the Brasso Police Station arrested a 39-year-old Tabaquite man for possession of 1.7 kgs of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

The drugs, worth approximately $17,000, were seized at the suspect’s home.

On Saturday, officers of the IATF arrested a 22-year-old Port-of-Spain man for possession 10 g of marijuana and a revolver loaded with five rounds of ammunition.

Officers went to Clifton Towers, East Dry River, Port-of-Spain, where they arrested the suspect and found the firearm hidden in a washroom in the building.
