Corporal killed in Caroni crash

Corporal Terrence Peters was killed in a crash which occurred on Friday in the vicinity of Kelly Village, Caroni.

Corporal Terrence Peters was killed in a crash which occurred on Friday in the vicinity of Kelly Village, Caroni.

A member of Trinidad and Tobago Regiment died in an accident on Friday.

He has been identified as Corporal Terrence Peters.

According to reports, Corporal Peters was involved in a road traffic accident in the vicinity of Kelly Village, Caroni around 5:50 pm on Friday.

The officer was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Science Complex for treatment, however, he succumbed to his injuries at hospital at 6:12 pm.

The Trinidad and Tobago Regiment in a statement issued on Saturday expressed deep regret on the passing of Peters, noting that he served 14 distinguished years in the Regiment.

It also extended condolences to his family.

“Corporal Peters served 14 distinguished years in the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment. He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Lindra Quamina-Peters, adopted father of Kellon Quamina and a brother to many.

On behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff Rear Admiral Hayden Pritchard, the Acting Commanding Officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment, Colonel Kester Weekes and by extension the Officers, Men and Women of the Defence Force Formations, we would like to express our deepest condolences to the family of the late Corporal Terrence Peters.

May they receive the strength and grace from the Almighty God and the support from relatives and friends during their time of grief,” the statement said.

It added funeral arrangements for Corporal Peters will be announced when finalized.
